    My name is Rick Jensen.  My favorite pastimes include fishing, sports, board and card games, and spending time with family and friends. 

     When I cannot pursue other interests,  I also truly enjoy solving a good themed crossword puzzle, and yes, it took quite some time before I completely solved my first crossword.  My Aunt Helen is the only family member that shares this interest. 

     In today’s busy lifestyle, it is often hard to find the time or shared interest to interact with friends and family.  Some like fishing, others games, still others sports.  Some even like Brussels sprouts.  (See inedible vegetables.)

     I often pondered how to explain the enjoyment of crosswords or to share that experience with those near or dear to me.  Why should something so enjoyable have to remain a solitary venture? 

     On numerous occasions I attempted to compose a way to make a game of it, always coming to an impasse.  After several attempts, I came to the realization that crosswords were meant for those whom already liked them, and they could only be enjoyed individually.

     I had already given up hope of developing a game and had not thought about it for quite some time.  Evidently it was embedded in my subconscious mind because I awoke in the middle of the night after several months had passed, and the game was totally clear in every aspect.  I rushed to the table and started writing down how it would work.  Everything just kept pouring out, and, although some minor things have been perfected, the game itself was penned in those pre-dawn hours.

     J-Way is a family owned business with the core in Loyal, WI, and roots scattered throughout the Midwest.  It was formed by the passion of my creation, spreading through family members as I introduced each to my game.  Although the test plays involved extremely crude components which were difficult to work with, everyone could see what a great game it was destined to become.  Through years of perseverance we have honed the original idea into an easy-to-play format with all the proper components for everyone’s full enjoyment.  We are extremely confident that this will be the most entertaining game that you and all that play with you have ever experienced.
